Tara Madgwick - Friday, 4 February 2011 Australian bred fillies filled the quinella in the Listed UAE Guineas at Meydan overnight , while Aussie bred and HK trained sprinter Dynamic Blitz captured the Group III Al Shindagha Sprint. Hong Kong raider Dynamic Blitz scored a commanding win for the Ricky Yiu stable at his first appearance in Dubai having not raced since finishing third at Sha Tin in November. Ridden confidently by Olivier Doleuze, Dynamic Blitz overtook longtime leader Inxile at the top of the stretch and drew off to win by two and a quarter lengths. An all weather track specialist in Hong Kong, the six year-old son of Elusive Quality (USA) was dismissed by punters at odds of 14-1, but set a new stakes record in the Al Shindagha, running the six furlongs in 1:10.47. A half-brother by Elusive Quality (USA) to Group I winning sire Reset from the former star racemare Assertive Lass, Dynamic Blitz (pictured in Hong Kong) was bought by Darley for $1.4 million at the 2006 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the Twin Palms Draft. He won three of eight starts in Melbourne before being gelded and on-sold to Hong Kong where he proved a success when switched to the all weather surface winning a further five races. Dynamic Blitz is the third stakes-winner for Assertive Lass and has the overall record of nine wins and three placings from 27 starts. His dam Assertive Lass was acquired privately by Darley and exported to the Northern Hemisphere in 2005 and her only two recorded foals by Cape Cross are yet to race.
