Freeze
20 September 2009 Eternal Wealth is the first progeny of little-known Australian sire Freeze (x Marscay) to race in Singapore, and is now his first winning advertisement too after he took out the $65,000 Panasonic Professional Plasma Stakes over 1200m, a race for Restricted Maidens (2&3YO) at the odds of $44. Eternal Wealth (Soo Khoon Beng) capitalised on his barrier No 1 to draw clear at the 200m for a 1 -length win over Big Bolt (Barend Vorster), with favourite Lira (Joao Moreira) winding up late for third another three parts of a length away. The owner (Mr Alan Tan, husband of Madam Jean Tan, who races Eternal Wealth), a friend Jeff and myself were at the Gold Coast Magic Millions yearling sales last year and saw him as we walked past his stall, said Dr Yeoh. We thought he looked beautiful and the owner liked him straightaway. Ive never heard of the sire Freeze, but when I checked the book, I thought having speed in his genes would be good. It was a little dark when he went past his stall that day. So we went back to have another look and it was love at first sight.
