Snippetson

Speed to Burn

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday, 30 November 2011

The looming $2million Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the Gold Coast in January puts the focus back on juvenile racing, so which sires have their two year-olds running hot as we head towards Christmas.

Widden Stud based Snippetson (pictured) leads the Australian sires list for two year-old earnings with three smart winners led by Liam Birchley's brilliant filly Snipzu.

A gallant second on debut in the Listed ATC Gimcrack Stakes at Randwick, Snipzu reeled off two ultra impressive wins in Brisbane when she returned home to stamp herself amongst the favourites for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Snippetson has three juvenile winners from eight starters and looks set for another good season, following on from 2010/2011 when he finished second to only his stable mate Stratum on the Australian Second Season Sires List by winners.

With his oldest progeny now four year-olds, Snippetson is the sire of 72 winners worldwide led by Group II winner Fast Clip, stakes-winner Miss Upstart and a further four stakes horses
