Guineas Goal for Thats The One
Tara Madgwick - Saturday, 6 August 2011

Exciting Snippetson three year-old Thats The One made it two wins in as many starts when zooming home from last to win at Flemington on Saturday.

Prepared by Colin and Cindy Alderson, Thats The One looked above average when winning on debut at Sandown on July 20 and ran right up to that good form in this tougher 1410 metre assignment.

Eased back after the jump by Craig Williams, Thats The One settled at the rear and when angled into the clear at the top of the straight surged to the line to grab a narrow victory right on the line.

"I was very impressed with him today, said Cindy Alderson.

"Craig wanted to go forward, but we asked him to ride him quiet with a view to the future and in the end hes ridden him like he was the best horse in the race and hes won.

"Im mindful of the fact its his first preparation, so well take it race by race, but hes in the Guineas (Caulfield) so well focus that way.

Thats The One is a homebred for Alderson stable client Bill Sexton and his family and is the second foal and second metropolitan winner from the unraced Redoutes Choice mare Chosen.

Thats The One is another smart type for Snippetson, who has proven a reliable source of winners led by Group II winner Fast Clip, who won a trial at Randwick on Friday for the Gai Waterhouse stable and looks set for a successful spring campaign.
